The Reconciled Accounts are provided monthly to Members and the public who attend the Parish Council Meetings. These documents are freely available, and it is the responsibility of individuals to collect a copy from the documentation made available at each meeting. The accounts are listed as an item for discussion on each agenda and are considered in full by Members of the Parish Council, prior to being agreed. Only when these have been agreed, are they paid.
The Parish Clerk does not have any authority to sign cheques. Cheques are signed by two Parish Councillors.
The process detailed above is deemed to meet the recommended, national, methodology and has been the accepted method of operation for Tintagel Parish Council for several years. The purpose of the process is to ensure that all monies held by the Parish Council are properly accounted for.
